WWE SMACKDOWN TO APPEAR ON USA NETWORK

 A five-year deal between WWE and NBCUniversal will see Friday Night SmackDown air on USA Network starting in October 2024. This was revealed by WWE on Thursday. WWE said in a press statement (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News) that starting with the 2024–25 broadcast season, it will also produce four annual primetime specials that will air on NBC. The agreement puts an end to SmackDown's Fox run, which started in 2019. Prior to that, SyFy from 2010 to 2015 and USA Network from 2016 until 2019 both carried SmackDown. Nick Khan, president of WWE, expressed enthusiasm on SmackDown's upcoming transfer to USA Network, saying: For many years, NBCUniversal has been a fantastic partner of WWE. With the addition of SmackDown to USA Network on Friday evenings, we are thrilled to continue our long-standing partnership. We also anticipate the yearly launch of several WWE special events on NBC. JOHN CENA WRESTLEMANIA 40 OPPONENTS REVEALED

 John Cena returned to WWE on SmackDown a few weeks ago. The former WWE Champion has become a staple on the Blue Brand, and is set to remain an active member of the roster for the upcoming months. His last major match was against Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39. He is reportedly set to face another upcoming star in Solo Sikoa. Roman Reigns might be absent from WWE TV, but his cousins have been wreaking havoc. Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa are picking fights with just about everyone on SmackDown, including legends like AJ Styles and Cena. THE ROCK'S WWE SMACKDOWN RETURN VIEWED 103M TIMES

 The shock of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's return to the WWE on this past week's edition of SmackDown Live has made it the most-watched social media video of the year. The video has been viewed more than 103 million times, according to WWE's announcement on Monday. During a segment with Pat McAfee and Austin Theory at the beginning of the program, Johnson made an appearance. He smacked Theory with his infamous People's Elbow, whipping up the Denver crowd. His first WWE appearance in four years took place in the first event after the company's merger with UFC under Endeavor officially took place last week. After his appearance on Friday, fans undoubtedly want The Great One to compete in one final match, perhaps at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia the following year.
